About
About Pofu and its developer
Pofu is an AI calorie counter for iPhone, made by one independent developer.
Who makes Pofu
Pofu is built by Ali Gürkan Sevilmiş (also written Ali Gurkan Sevilmis), an independent iOS developer. There is no large team or outside investor behind this site: the app, this website and support email are handled by one person.
Why Pofu
Many calorie counters treat every day the same and every missed day as a failure. Pofu is built around a different idea: tracking works better when it is quick, gentle and aware of how your body changes. So Pofu pairs AI photo logging with optional cycle awareness, grace days that protect your streak, fasting windows that do not scold you, and macro tracking. It is made for women, and anyone is welcome to use it.

How the AI estimates work, and their limits
When you photograph a meal, Pofu's AI estimates the food, the portion, the calories and the macros, and shows a confidence score. You can edit anything that looks off, and Pofu remembers the correction.
These are estimates, not lab measurements. A camera cannot see the oil in the pan or the depth of a bowl, and mixed dishes hide their ingredients. Read more in our guide to how accurate photo calorie counting is.
Free plan: barcode scanning, search and manual logging are free and unlimited, with 3 AI photo scans on your first day, then 1 a day, and 1 voice log a day. Pofu Pro raises the daily limits to 10 photo scans and 10 voice logs.
Pofu is a tracking tool, not medical advice. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have a history of disordered eating, follow your doctor's or dietitian's advice first. Cycle data stays on your device.
